The use of color can be intimidating for the novice designer but can be the key to creating a stunning room.
Creating a curated color palette on your own probably seems impossible, but it doesn’t need to be. One of the easiest ways to do this is to find a statement piece that you really enjoy, like the floral wallpaper above, then select colors from it to use around the room. Notice how the blue in the wallpaper is similar to the blue used in the vanity and rug. Or how the brass accent colors in the mirror frame, shelf, and cabinet pulls have a similar feel as the darker parts in the orange flowers behind it. You can add your personal touch by switching colors around. The vanity could just as easily be green, pink, or even yellow according to your preference, and still have a cohesive feel.
So when developing your room colors, select that statement piece you love. Whether it’s a colorful rug, a cozy blanket, a unique wallpaper, or that stained-glass lamp you found at a vintage boutique and build your custom palette around it.
